The State Department assures that US security guarantees for Ukraine will be relevant regardless of the outcome of the American elections.
This was stated by the speaker of the State Department Matthew Miller, reports “Voice of America”.
“We must secure long-term security agreements that will outlive any administration, any government, both here in the United States and among our allies and partners who have made long-term commitments to Ukraine’s security,” Miller said.
He made the statement in response to a question about a possible Trump presidency and his attitude to guarantees.
Miller says they will be enshrined in existing interstate agreements, regardless of the identity of the US president.
