In Mariupol Recorded the Largest Movement of Troops of the Occupiers in Recent Months – Andryushchenko

In the temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region, there is an active transfer of Russian troops in the direction of the temporarily occupied Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region. The adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko, spoke about this on July 24 in Telegram.

According to Andryushchenko, at least two columns of 30 pieces of equipment were recorded during Sunday from the Novoazovsky direction towards Mangush, Donetsk region and Berdyansk.

“Trucks with ammunition [ammunition] and attached guns of the Rapira class, tankers and buses with so far manpower,” he wrote.

According to the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, this is the largest open movement of occupiers’ reserves in recent months.

“At the moment, we are establishing whether this is a replenishment of training camps instead of personnel who were transferred last week to the Berdyansk and Mariupol directions, or direct replenishment to the front line in the Zaporozhye region,” Andryushchenko summed up.

Mariupol was surrounded by Russian troops during the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022. Since the beginning of March, it has been under blockade, since the second half of May, the city has been in complete occupation.

About 130,000 people remained in Mariupol at the beginning of August  . Before the full-scale invasion, 530 thousand people lived in the city. According to various estimates, from 20 thousand to 25 thousand civilians died during the battles for the city  , there is no exact data.

Through Mariupol, the invaders regularly  transfer equipment and manpower  from the territory of the Russian Federation to the Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions. Mobilized Russians are based in the city itself  ,  desertion flourishes in Russian units , Andryushchenko reported.

In January 2023, according to the mayor’s adviser, the invaders  brought air defense equipment  and  manpower into the city , accumulating up to 30 thousand invaders  for the offensive . In the future,  the transfer of equipment and manpower continued . In June, due to the intensification of hostilities,  the intensity of the transfer of Russian troops through Mariupol increased . In addition, the invaders  began to dig trenches on the border of  the city’s residential development.
